2024 RECORDED MEDIA ARTS SEMINAR AND CALL FOR PAPERS

2024 RECORDED MEDIA ARTS SEMINAR AND CALL FOR PAPERS

THEME: CREATIVITY AND ART SKILLS IN THE ERA OF AUTOMATION:
MORAL AND ETHICAL PERSPECTIVES

To become a reliable art creator, there must be a lot of processes involved in honing skills/technical mastery, mental maturity, and insight/ideas. To create a painting, for example, a painter must go through a long process, from cultivating hand skills through basic exercises such as sketching, drawing shapes, and practicing shading techniques, and so on until finally being able to pour paint on canvas to become a painting that is absolutely and originally his own work that he did himself with direct touch without intervention from other parties.

The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the signs of the era of automation. In the field of art, AI has expanded the opportunities for collaboration between humans and technology. In creating art, AI shortens a long process to produce a new creation. Recorded media art is one of the fields of art that is very close to technology, so in this era of automation, recorded media art and technology certainly have a lot of mutual influence on the process of creating works of art. On the one hand, the existence of artificial intelligence technology such as AI as a tool is very beneficial to be utilized by artists in the ease of creating works of art, but on the other hand, the existence of this technology raises anxiety and anxiety from artists, there is a fear that this artificial intelligence will replace artists in creating works. In the FSMR academic seminar with the theme "Creativity and Art Skills in the Era of Automation: Moral and Ethical Perspectives" it is necessary to think about how the art of recording media in this era of automation to continue to improve and expand the collaboration between humans and technology in creating art by prioritizing creativity, skills, morals and ethics.
