As a form of commitment in carrying out a structured education and administration system, the Department of Photography, Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta held an election for the Head of the Photography Department (Kajur) for the 2020-2024 period, on Monday, September 21, 2020. In this election, there are five candidates for Kajur, namely Dr. Edial Rusli, S.E., M.Sn., Oscar Samaratungga, S.E., M.Sn., Arti Wulandari, M.Sn., Kusrini, S.Sos., M.Sn., and Pitri Ermawati, M.Sn. Later, the Head of Department will be the one who determines the policy of managing the learning system and other administrative functions in the Photography Department.
The Kajur election process was carried out simply but still lively by prioritizing a democratic atmosphere. The election ceremony began with remarks from the Chair of the FSMR Senate, ISI Yogyakarta, namely Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn. After that the lecturers in the Department of Photography conducted deliberations and consensus to elect the Kajur. Because through deliberation and consensus can produce election results, the voting option is not implemented.
After going through the election process, Oscar Samaratungga, S.E., M.Sn. was finally elected by acclamation. This made him the elected Head of the Photography Department. In his speech, he stated that he would carry out the mandate with full integrity and high commitment to advance the Photography Department. Oscar Samaratungga, S.E., M.Sn. who was previously the Secretary of the Photography Department expressed his gratitude to all lecturers in the Photography Department who have entrusted him with the responsibility. He also expects the establishment of strong teamwork in order to bring benefits and progress to make the Department of Photography even more superior.
Assistant Dean II FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, Deddy Setyawan, M.Sn., who was present as a witness as well as a representative of the faculty senate, expressed his appreciation for the election process of the Photography Department which went smoothly, warmly, and lively. For him, the election process this time reflects the maturity and willingness of all parties within the Department of Photography to jointly bring the Department of Photography to a better direction.
The Dean of FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., who was previously the Head of the Photography Department also expressed his pride in the process of selecting the Head of the Department this time. He hopes that after this, the new Kajur can immediately lead the lecturers and other employees within the Department of Photography to prepare to strategize in carrying out policies from the institute, faculty, and department itself and complete their respective homework for the progress of the Department of Photography.
