INCREASING THE COMPETENCE OF ANIMATION FIELD FOR LECTURERS OF D-3 ANIMATION STUDY PROGRAM THROUGH COMPETENCY TEST

The rapid advancement of technology is increasingly enhancing the demand for animation in almost all fields, not excluding education. The D-3 Animation Study Program (Prodi) at the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts (Fakultas Seni Media Rekam - FSMR), Indonesian Institute of the Arts (Institut Seni Indonesia - ISI) Yogyakarta, has currently aligned with the industry's needs in animation by further strengthening and improving competency skills within the animation scope. Following up on the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 3 of 2020 concerning National Higher Education Standards, every lecturer needs to be equipped with adequate qualifications and competencies to improve the quality of human resources in Higher Education. Therefore, lecturers are required to possess greater competencies and capabilities to support academic needs and the working world in accordance with their respective fields.

This coincides with the presence of the Vocational Higher Education Strengthening Program (PPPTV) in the competency improvement program. The D-3 Animation Study Program collaborated with the Indonesian Telematics Professional Association (APTI) and LSP TIK Indonesia in organizing a training and competency testing program in the field of animation in mid-December 2020. There were two schemes tested in the program, namely, the scheme Motion Graphic Artist and 3D Low-poly Model Artist. The second program was organized by LSP TIK Indonesia, located in Surabaya, and was conducted online from training to competency exams in the field with three schemes tested, namely the scheme Low poly 3D technique, 3D scheme animation And scheme Motion Graphics 3D. By participating in these activities, it is hoped that they will provide a foundation for all lecturers of the D-3 Animation Study Program to further improve their performance.
