ANINOBAR: HIMA ANIMASI ISI YOGYAKARTA AND JNM BLOC COLLABORATE TO BRING YOUNG ANIMATORS' WORKS TO THE PUBLIC SCREEN

Yogyakarta, October 14, 2025 – The Animation Student Association (HIMA Animasi) of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta is holding a collaborative program titled Aninobar, a partnership with Layar Mantap from JNM Bloc. This program serves as an exhibition and screening platform for student animation works, as well as a space for public appreciation of short animated films created by the youth of the art campus.

Aninobar is a work program initiated by HIMA Animasi ISI Yogyakarta as a platform to introduce and appreciate student animated short films to the wider community. More than just a film screening, this event also serves as a professional learning opportunity for Animation program students to present their work in a real public space.

The Head of HIMA Animation ISI Yogyakarta explained that this activity aims to build a bridge between the academic world and the creative industry. “We want to create a space where student animation works can be appreciated, while also opening up collaboration opportunities with industry players,” he said.

Working with JNM Bloc, which has long been known as a creative public space and a platform for the art community, Aninobar is expanding the reach of student animation works so they can be enjoyed by the general public. This activity also aims to strengthen the network between campuses and the creative industry ecosystem in Yogyakarta.

This program began with Layar Aniversal, a screening event for animated short films by the 2024 cohort, featuring eight films produced by KREMA. Seeing the enthusiasm and great potential from the event, HIMA Animasi developed the concept into Aninobar—a regular program that not only screens works from a specific cohort but is open to all students of the Animation Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta.

Through Aninobar, the Animation Student Association (HIMA Animasi) hopes to provide real experiences for young animators in building professional portfolios, expanding their audience, and strengthening the image of the Animation Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta as an active, productive, and influential institution in the local animation world.

“Aninobar is not just a spectacle, but a celebration of creativity. We believe this event is an important first step in fostering a more dynamic and competitive local animation industry,” concluded the official statement from HIMA Animation ISI Yogyakarta. (Public Relations)
