FINAL PROJECT EXAMINATION OF PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAM, FSMR, ISI YOGYAKARTA IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC

The Photography Study Program (Prodi), Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta held the Final Project Examination (TA) for the Even Semester 2019/2020 using an offline and online system on July 27-31, 2020. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the policy to continue holding TA Exams was decided to continue to be held by referring to various considerations and protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19. A total of 19 students registered to take the final exam with details; 10 students took the exam offline and 9 students took the exam online.

Especially for the implementation of offline TA exams, the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta, applies strict protocols for the parties involved in each exam schedule. Minimum distance restrictions, wearing masks along with face shieldThe COVID-19 pandemic, and other aspects of hygiene are implemented with strict supervision at all times. This is done to ensure that efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 are carried out with discipline for the safety and comfort of all parties.

The final exam this time is certainly different from the final exam in previous years. Some procedures related to the completeness of the files and the minimum standard of work that must be met by students who will take the final exam are also adjusted to the various limitations faced due to the pandemic. Tolerance for the completeness of the final exam includes the number of photos of the work which is reduced to a minimum of 8 photos / works, as well as the final appearance of the work which does not have to be modified.finishing with a frame, but can be customized.finishing with cardboard or kappa board.

Online TA exams are taken by students who are outside Yogyakarta, using the Zoom application. Especially for students who take the online final exam, the completeness of the exam is like a written report / thesis, photobookThe work is first sent to the Photography Study Program, and then distributed to each supervisor and expert examiner. This is a method that is determined so that the implementation of the exam runs smoothly and the examiners can still see the original work made by students.

Class of 2015 student, M. Ikhsan, showed the results of his final project entitled "Phosphorus in Dolls as Elements of Advertising Photography on Website Media" during the offline exam at the Photography Study Program, Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) on July 27-30, 2020. In the final project examination at this time, no exhibition was held because it was to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission so that all of his works would be contained in a Photobook, which is usually only a complement to the exhibition.
