With a collaborative spirit, this program is open and designed to allow young photographers from all corners of Indonesia to join and get photojournalism education materials. Of the 15 participants who passed the selection, one of them was a student of the Photography Study Program (Prodi), Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, namely Taufik Rozzaq Nafiudin, a 2016 student. Taufik is a student who has participated in the practical work program at Kompas Daily. His high enthusiasm led him through various adventures and activities that brought him closer to the world of photojournalism. For him, photojournalism offers challenges and becomes an honest way of telling the concrete problems that occur in society.
The character of photojournalism that always presents straightforward facts is an advantage that always sparks his curiosity. For him, learning photography, especially journalistic photography, can be done in various ways. As a student in the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta, he feels lucky because he has learned photography insights and skills in college. Furthermore, as an effort to continue to hone skills, develop knowledge, as well as open and expand networks in the world of photojournalism, he also tried to reach his luck to take part in various competitions as well as workshop. It is proven, currently he is one of the participants who passed the selection to get HPFI grants and had the opportunity to learn directly with experienced mentors in the fields of photography and writing. Hopefully what Taufik Rozzaq Nafiudin has done and achieved will become a stimulus for other students in the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta to always try to do the best to dare to reach dreams, optimistically develop themselves, and contribute significantly in the world of photography.
