Dozens of students from the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta chose not to return to their home areas because some of their home areas were still declared as black zones and red zones for the distribution of Covid-19 so that the choice to stay in Yogyakarta while preparing for the new semester was the best choice for them. Final semester students also choose to stay in Yogyakarta to prepare for the Final Project, this is because some students choose to take the exam offline by meeting face-to-face with examiners, which of course is carried out according to the COVID-19 security protocol standards.
As a form of love from ISI Yogyakarta to students affected by this pandemic, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, the fourth phase of basic food distribution was held for students of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta who are still living in Yogyakarta due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The distribution of basic necessities took place at 10.00-12.00 WIB located at the Pandeng Gallery FSMR.
The distribution of basic necessities was carried out by the FSMR Covid-19 Task Force team and several members of the FSMR BEM and HMJ. A total of 87 basic food packages were distributed simultaneously on that day. Students who are entitled to it come to campus that day while still carrying out the Covid-19 safety and health protocol, namely by wearing a mask and when they arrive at the FSMR environment they immediately wash their hands with clean water and soap. In addition, their body temperature is also first checked with a thermometer at the FSMR Covid-19 Task Force post, and after getting the food package, students are required to immediately leave the location so as not to cause crowds in order to minimize the risk of spreading and contracting COVID-19.
Several students expressed almost the same opinion, namely that assistance can continue to be held while the pandemic is still ongoing. Some students also expressed their gratitude because they could still enjoy sustenance in the form of basic necessities until that day. With the distribution of these basic necessities, the committee hopes to slightly ease the burden on students in meeting their daily needs.
