Tomy Widyatno Taslim, director of FFPJ (Student Film Festival Jogja) who is also the initiator of ImajiFes 2020 with Rabernir and Regyna Margareta, alumni of FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, visited the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta on Thursday (11/06/2020). The visit was received by the Dean of FSMR, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. together with Assistant Dean I, Pamungkas Wahyu Setiyanto, M.Sn. and Assistant Dean II, Deddy Setyawan, M.Sn. in the 2nd floor meeting room, FSMR Dean building.
The visit was intended to discuss the 2020 ImajiFes activity which will collaborate with FSMR ISI Yogyakarta as the organizer of the event. advisor activity. Media-based ImaginationFes 2020 online-digital ImajiFes 2020 aims to encourage the world of art that has the power of imagination, especially in the visual arts, so that it can always process to be part of humanitarian work through inspirational and reflective works of art. The theme of ImajiFes 2020 is 'Imagination for Humanity' inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. ImajiFes 2020 is a competition Online in the visual field on a national scale that will provide the widest possible opportunity for the general public, especially young people, to participate through 2 types of categories. The first category is still image (including photography, posters, illustrations, paintings, and the like) and the second category is motion image (including movies, animations, videos, and the like). It is hoped that with this competition, teenagers and young age groups (aged 10-24 years) can hone their social sensitivity by responding to the momentum of the COVID-19 pandemic through creativity in the arts.
The idea of designing the ImajiFes 2020 activity has first gone through a discussion with Prof.Drs. M. Dwi Marianto, M.F.A., Ph.D. who is one of the professors of ISI Yogyakarta. It is hoped that this activity can become a visual literacy event accompanied by experts in the field of art, especially in this case FSMR academics as advisors and judges in the competition. Of course this received a positive response from the Dean of FSMR, because then it would attract more public interest in participating in the competition as well as improve the performance of FSMR academics in the Community Service program.
ImajiFes 2020 submissions are accepted from June 1-30, 2020 and will be curated from July 1-15, 2020, followed by judging on July 15-30, 2020 and announcement of winners on August 1, 2020. The winners will receive certificates of appreciation and coaching funds of up to millions of rupiah, as well as e-certificate from FFPJ and an award trophy from FSMR ISI Yogyakarta. Before closing the meeting that day, Tomy Taslim expressed his great hope for FSMR to always be leading role model in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, especially through the field of recording media arts, so that it can also support its students to remain active in their work and he also hopes that the ImajiFes activity can become an annual activity.
