UPGRADING ORMAWA AND KKM FSMR ISI YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta, July 30, 2025 - The Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta held an event "Upgrading ORMAWA and KKM Faculty of Recording Media Arts" with the aim of increasing leadership capacity, strengthening synergy between student organizations, and equipping administrators with skills in managing organizations and running work programs effectively.


Before the event opened, remarks were given by Bening Setara Embun as the Head of BEM FSMR 2025/2026. In his speech, he invited all participants to actively ask and criticize for the improvement of ORMAWA and KKM, and conveyed the importance of this activity as a forum for mutual learning. After that, remarks were also given by Deputy Dean III A. Janu Haryono, S.sn. who said that this activity was an opportunity for students to learn to manage organizations, improve public speaking skills, and gain insight from presenters, both internal and external.


The last remarks were delivered by Deputy Dean I Arif Sulistyono, M.Sn. who appreciated the implementation of ORMAWA and KKM Upgrading activities as a positive tradition in FSMR. He said that this activity was a moment to improve insights and practical skills in organizing, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a family culture between leaders, lecturers, and students in the FSMR environment.


The opening procession of Upgrading ORMAWA and KKM FSMR was officially marked through an opening statement by Deputy Dean I Arif Sulistyono, M.Sn., which was greeted with a rousing applause from all participants as a symbol of the start of a series of activities. The event continued with the presentation of material delivered by Vice Dean I Arif Sulistyono, M.Sn. regarding the types of state university institutions in Indonesia and ISI Yogyakarta's funding sources. In his delivery, he explained the differences between PTN-BH, PTN-BLU, and PTN-Satker, and how the funding system at ISI Yogyakarta runs based on the institutional status. He also underlined that this understanding is important for students to be wiser in designing work programs, especially those related to submitting activity budgets.


The next presentation was delivered by Iva Fikrani Deslia, S.IP., M.A. She delivered material on public speaking, which included the importance of public speaking skills and how to build confidence when presenting ideas. In her material, she also gave various tips to overcome nervousness, such as catching your breath, making careful preparations, understanding the audience, and maintaining eye contact. Participants were invited to be more confident and communicative in every speaking opportunity. The session then continued with a question and answer session, where several students actively asked questions about their public speaking experience, as well as asking for advice directly from the speaker.


Furthermore, the last material was delivered by I Gusti Gde Divakara as the former chairman of BEM FSMR 2024/2025. He presented material on the importance of maintaining organizational ideology, especially the value of mutual cooperation and a sense of belonging to the organization. In addition, he also discussed and asked about various problems that occur in student organizations (ORMAWA), such as the lack of communication between members and the lack of active participation. He provided a number of suggestions to overcome this, such as strengthening the sense of togetherness, and creating an open discussion space.


The event was closed with the hope that it could have a positive impact on the participants, especially in developing public speaking skills, building self-confidence, and fostering a solid organizational spirit. (Public Relations)
