At the SEMAR launch event, the Dean of FSMR, Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn. said that SEMAR is a concept for correspondence applications that are integrated from various sources in the FSMR environment so that it is expected to become a centralized application. The FSMR big family environment must acculturate digital minded with the SEMAR application in order to maximize electronic correspondence. Currently, FSMR still uses paper mail but has begun to be accompanied by electronic mail so that it is expected that starting January 2021 it will be fully integrated into electronic mail from SEMAR alone. The application launched by FSMR is arguably pioneer in the ISI Yogyakarta campus environment. This application also appears to respond to the form of lectures Online/online that will still be implemented in the coming semester as the pandemic is not over yet.

Another function of the SEMAR application is that in addition to correspondence matters, it is also a medium for personal archiving because letters given to individuals will automatically be stored in memory pockets in the Website format. This pandemic is an important momentum because it adds value to the SEMAR function, so that students and lecturers as well as education personnel (tendik) can take care of correspondence remotely to reduce direct contact that risks the spread of COVID-19. SEMAR in its implementation can function to take care of or submit practical work letters, leave applications, final assignments, information on transcripts and SKL, Active Certificates, requests for studio / equipment loans, requests for permission to place / research / take pictures, requests for KP / PKL / Value Stamps, class schedules, consultation schedules. Online students and lecturers, and so on.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made institutions must be able to carry out their activities smoothly so that each work unit is required to be able to provide space to stretch the reach of work remotely. The launch of the SEMAR application is also part of the realization of E-Office Integrity Zone in FSMR ISI Yogyakarta which is oriented towards maximizing public services. On this occasion, Assistant Rector I, Dr. Stepanus Hanggar Budi Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. said that the launch of the SEMAR application was a good momentum during the pandemic because it could facilitate and maximize the performance of lecturers and staff. Online so that in the future it can also be developed throughout the ISI Yogyakarta area with a new name and packaging so that it is fully integrated and synchronized in the ISI Yogyakarta environment as a whole.

Currently all FSMR students have verified accounts in the SEMAR application. So, then students who apply for services must first fill in the submission form for the issuance of student letters. The letter will be created electronically through the SEMAR application and a copy of the letter will be sent through the student's email account.
