Yogyakarta, September 29, 2025 \u2013 The Faculty of Recording Media Art (FSMR) of the Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Yogyakarta and the Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) DIY held the Kanthi Pawiyatan event by Astragraphia with the theme \u201cDifferent Frequencies, Different Actions: Dissecting Our Media Content War\u201d which was attended by FSMR students.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was opened with remarks from the Dean of FSMR, Dr. Edial Rusli, S.E., M.Sn., who emphasized the challenges of media in the digital era as well as the importance of ethics and wise media utilization. He expressed hope that students can gain knowledge from this talk show as a foundation for becoming creators and filmmakers.

The next opening remarks were delivered by Fuad, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., Commissioner for Institutional Affairs at KPID DIY, who highlighted the high usage of social media in Indonesia and the importance of paying attention to the dominance of digital media, which is not yet fully regulated. The final opening remarks were by Imam Sembodo, Business Consultant Production at PT Astra Graphia Tbk, who emphasized that despite the strong digital current, printed media remains
important in strengthening identity and providing real experiences. The two complement each other, and he hopes this talk show will encourage students to be more critical and creative in their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The event continued with a discussion session on local content strategy amidst global competition. The phenomenon of \u201cdying TV\u201d has emerged due to the younger generation shifting to digital platforms. Prof. Dr. H. Agus Moh. Najib, S.Ag., M.Ag, from the Acting Director of HALKER BPIP RI, emphasized the challenges of spreading Pancasila values in the digital era, the importance of religious moderation, civilized freedom, and national unity. He also highlighted the removal of Pancasila as a mandatory subject post-reform, which has influenced societal value shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, the presentation by Business Consultant Production at PT Astra Graphia Tbk, Imam Sembodo, about Astragraphia, a Digital Transformation and Printing Solution company and exclusive distributor of Fujifilm in Indonesia, emphasized that print media remains relevant in the digital era to strengthen branding and provide tangible experiences. Together with Imperial Digital Printing, Astragraphia bridges student ideas with modern technology and printing services so that creative works can be more valuable and competitive.

Then the Director of Imperial Digital Printing & Grandia Publisher, Setia Budi, S.T., emphasized the importance of defining the target market in every creative work, while also affirming that print media remains relevant in the digital era. Supported by the latest printing technology, his company, along with Astragraphia, is ready to assist students in exploring ideas and strengthening their branding through innovative print media.

Lecturer of the Film and Television Study Program at FSMR, Endang Mulyaningsih, S.I.P., M.HUM., stated that the development of media from print to social media always changes societal behavior, but also brings challenges such as declining communication skills and the prevalence of hate speech. She sees the need for new regulations so that traditional media can adapt to digital platforms, and emphasizes that television is not dead, but rather continues to adjust and support the development of local culture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the material presentation, the event continued with a Q&A session which was enthusiastically welcomed by the students. The students enthusiastically conveyed their questions and opinions to the speakers.
