Yogyakarta, February 18, 2025 \u2013 Animatour, a Pre-Event Roadshow Screening for WAINI Animation Festival Vol. 5, was successfully held at SMKN 5 Yogyakarta on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Animatour, an initiative by the 2023 cohort of the Animation Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta, aims to introduce student animation works and promote the WAINI Animation Festival to partner schools. The event also serves as a platform to introduce the world of animation to students and provide a deeper understanding of animation education, particularly at ISI Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, held at SMKN 5 Yogyakarta, was attended by 115 students from the 10th and 11th grades majoring in Animation and Visual Communication Design (DKV). The event began with the screening of eight debut animated films by students from the 2024 Animation cohort. With a total screening duration of approximately 1.5 hours, the students were invited to witness creative works rich with ideas and high imagination. Following the film screening, the event continued with a film discussion involving the eight filmmakers who participated in the creation of these films. The filmmakers shared their experiences, challenges, and inspirations behind their work, offering deeper insights into the animation filmmaking process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only film discussions, but also Q&A sessions were held to give students the opportunity to ask questions about the world of animation and college life in the Animation Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta. The participants also got to know this study program more closely, which is known for its in-depth curriculum and support for student creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, this activity also provides information about the WAINI Animation Festival, which not only showcases animated film works but also offers young artists opportunities to participate in open submissions for films, illustrations, and the Ink Collab challenge. Information about these various opportunities becomes one of the attractions for students interested in developing their talents in art and animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In closing, the event concluded with a session for students from SMKN 5 Yogyakarta to write their impressions and messages. They were given the opportunity to write down their opinions and feelings after participating in the event, which served as a form of positive reflection on the activity. It was clear that many of them felt inspired and motivated to continue their studies in the field of animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This animatour is organized by over 150 committee members from the 2023 and 2024 batches of the Animation Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta. Their presence as committee members demonstrates the spirit of mutual cooperation and commitment to sharing knowledge and experiences with students in Yogyakarta. The extraordinary enthusiasm of the participants is proof that this event is not only beneficial for students as filmmakers but also for students who have an interest in the world of animation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Animatour was successfully carried out and received a very positive response from the students. The success of this event is expected to make Animatour a regular annual agenda. This activity is expected to further inspire and encourage students' passion for creating in the field of art, while also opening up opportunities for them to continue their studies in the Animation Program at ISI Yogyakarta, and to become a new generation ready to contribute to the Indonesian animation industry.
