DEPLOYMENT AND OBSERVATION OF MBKM INTERNS DIGITIZING THE WORKS OF THE HAJI WIDAYAT MUSEUM

Magelang, February 20, 2025 - The Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta in collaboration with Museum Haji Widayat held the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program in the field of internship. This program aims to digitize the collection of works by Museum Haji Widayat through documentation in the form of photos and videos. This activity is a form of FSMR's contribution to the preservation and archiving of works of art using digital methods.

A total of 10 FSMR ISI Yogyakarta students were deployed in this internship program. They consist of three students of the Photography Study Program, one student of the Animation Study Program, and six students of the Film and Television Study Program. This internship will take place from February to May 2025 at Haji Widayat Museum, Magelang. The students will be involved in the process of documenting works as well as drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for documentation.

The students were accompanied by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance of FSMR, Oscar Samaratungga, S.E., M.Sn., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs of FSMR, Antonius Janu, M.Sn., and Public Relations of FSMR, Raynald Alfian Yudisetyanto, M.Phil. In addition, there was also an accompanying lecturer from the Photography Study Program, Yohanes Baptista, M.Sn., who provided technical direction in the documentation of museum works.

In addition to student deployment, the team of lecturers and students also made initial observations regarding the conditions and needs of museum collection documentation. On this occasion, they developed an SOP for art documentation to ensure systematic and quality documentation results. This standardization is expected to be a reference for the museum in the documentation process in the future.

With this program, FSMR ISI Yogyakarta hopes to provide benefits not only for students who get direct practical experience and can apply the knowledge gained on campus, but also for Museum Haji Widayat in an effort to digitize and preserve works of art for the general public. This collaboration is an important step in optimizing the use of technology in the fields of art and culture. (Public Relations)
