The Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, organized the following activities recorded media art exhibition. ISI Yogyakarta Rector Dr. Irwandi, S.Sn., M.Sn on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, opened an exhibition of recorded media art entitled "Jalan Menuju Media Kreatif #16" which took place at the FIAP Exhibition Center - Galeri Pandeng Yogyakarta and will be held until November 10, 2024. This year's theme is "The Artistic Reflection of Recorded Media Art in the Artificial Intelligence Era," which evokes a discussion about the relationship between art and technology.
This exhibition is one of the annual programs that has been held since 2009 and is a showcase for creative works from lecturers, students, and colleagues from academia and industry. This year, the exhibition presents around 60 photographic works, 21 works in the form of television programs, video-art, documentary films, and story films, as well as 15 animation and game works. With a total of more than 100 works on display, the event is expected to serve as a bridge between art and modern technology.
The Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, Pius Rino Pungkiawan, M.Sn., explained that the theme of this exhibition is very relevant to the latest developments in the art world. "Artificial intelligence (AI) has penetrated various aspects of life, including recorded media art. Artists are now innovating in exploring new ways to create, interpret and interact with art. This exhibition is a reflection of the intersection between AI and recorded media art," he said. In terms of participation, the exhibition also involves many colleagues from within and outside the country. Besides local participants, there were also invited guests from various art universities, such as VCA University of Melbourne, Hungary University of Fine Arts, and Hong Kong Baptist University.
