In celebration of the 38th anniversary of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta in 2022 with the grand theme “Art for Life Recovery”Faculty of Recorded Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta holding an Exhibition and Screening of Recorded Media Artworks from June 20-27, 2022, with the sub-theme “New Beginnings for the Future” which brings hope for a new beginning after the pandemic with a better future in life and art. This activity is oriented towards the development of the Photography, Film and Television, and Animation Study Programs as part of the FSMR ISI Yogyakarta which aims to always exist and continue working even during a pandemic like today. The opening of the Exhibition and Screening of Recording Media Art Works was held in the Auvi Room, Dean's Building of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts, ISI Yogyakarta in a limited offline manner and was attended by important officials at ISI Yogyakarta. Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. as the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta expressed his remarks and appreciation to FSMR for the achievements that have been made despite the pandemic, so that the screening and exhibition can run well digitally and can reach more audiences. “This is a clear example that the pandemic does not limit and hinder artistic creativity, instead it spurs the fighting power to live and revive art with new platforms,” said the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta.
The development of digital platforms is one of the solutions amidst the current transition period of the pandemic, not least as a medium for showcasing recorded media artworks. FSMR Yogyakarta ISI hopes that the event for the existence and development of knowledge in the field of media art through photography exhibitions and screenings of television programs, films, and animation can become an appropriate creative space.
