Theme: Transforming Art Power for a Superior Indonesia
Sub Theme: Creative Power, Imagination and Art Innovation for the Progress of the Nation
In 2024, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta will reach the age of 40 as an art higher education institution. In the commemoration of the Anniversary which coincides with the 8th Lustrum, ISI Yogyakarta carries the theme "Transformation of Art Power for Excellent Indonesia" with the subtheme of the exhibition and screening of the work of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts: "Creative Power, Imagination, and Art Innovation for the Advancement of the Nation." The momentum of the 8th Lustrum is commemorated with a national spirit, especially from the perspective of education and art.
ISI Yogyakarta's 8th Lustrum is a reflection and retrospection of the institution's internal position and its role in national and international arts education. One of the focuses of this activity is to invite the entire academic community to unite towards a golden Indonesia by emphasizing the development of the quality of human resources. The acceleration process must be done by equalizing perceptions, namely one vision and one mission to build creative and innovative human resources. The spirit of the 8th Lustrum also gives meaning to encourage all elements of art academics to have creative and innovative power in the fields of education and arts.
In the framework of the 8th Lustrum, the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta will organize exhibitions and screenings of recording media art works which are a representation of current learning achievements and are expected to be able to compete at the regional, national and international levels. The exhibition at FSMR in the 8th Lustrum features works of photography, television programs, short films, documentaries, character design, concept art, animated films, and games by students and lecturers of FSMR ISI Yogyakarta. The integration of recorded media arts in the learning and development process can help individuals develop innovative thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and improve their ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. This project aims to investigate the effectiveness of media arts in enhancing creativity and innovation skills, identify best practices and successful case studies, and develop guidelines for incorporating media arts in learning and development programs to accelerate innovative and creative human resources.
Art has long been recognized as a powerful expression of the soul to inspire creativity and innovation. Such is the case with recorded media art, which refers to the use of various forms of media such as photos, videos, sound, and animation to create artistic works that are enjoyed through conventional, electronic, or digital means. Recorded media art has become an increasingly important art form in recent years due to technological advancements that have made it easier to access and create. One of the benefits of recorded media art is its ability to incorporate multiple senses into the artistic experience.
With video, sound and other forms of media, artists can create immersive and engaging works that can evoke strong emotions and leave a lasting impression on viewers. Recorded media art is also highly accessible, as it can be easily shared and distributed online or through various media platforms. This allows artists to reach a wider audience and has helped democratize the art world.
Overall, recorded media art is a dynamic and evolving art form that continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with technology and artistic expression. It provides a powerful means for artists to explore important social and cultural issues and can be used to create interesting and thought-provoking work.
Of course, it can all be realized to explore and accelerate creative and innovative human resources. Specifically to investigate the effectiveness of recorded media arts in enhancing creativity and innovation skills among individuals; identify best practices and successful case studies in the integration of recorded media arts in learning and research development processes; and develop guidelines for incorporating recorded media arts in learning and development programs to accelerate creative and innovative human resources for the betterment of the nation.
The 8th ISI Lustrum series of activities will be held open to the public so that the general public is expected to enjoy the various works of recording media art on display. With this participation, the public will not only be able to see the creative results of students, lecturers and academicians of FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, but also gain insight into the development of recording media art and how the latest technology can inspire artistic innovation.
