As a follow-up to the collaboration between the D3 Animation Study Program (Prodi), Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta and the Yogyakarta Special Region Archaeology Center (Balar DIY), on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, the D3 Animation Study Program together with Balar DIY had a thorough discussion. Online to discuss the Liyangan Site animation project. The Liyangan site is an archaeological site found on the slopes of Mount Sindoro and is a unique site when categorized by its findings at the location. In the discussion through the Zoom app, the conversation focused on rough preview for the artistic design of the animation and the data requirements to support the animation design.
On that occasion, the DIY Archaeology Center explained about the Liyangan Site as well as asking what data needs were needed for artistic and story design purposes. From the Animation Study Program, the art concept for the animation of Liyangan Site was presented in rough preview in order to get review and input from Balar DIY.
The Liyangan Site animation project is one of the activities that are part of the collaboration between Balar DIY and FSMR ISI Yogyakarta. The animation that will be made later is the development of a comic entitled "Liyangan: A Story from Beyond the Sindoro Fog" published by the DIY Archaeology Center in 2019. It is hoped that the animation about the Liyangan Site can educate the wider community about the existence of an ancient site that can be studied carefully and of course preserved as one of the historical artifacts and cultural heritage.
