SEWON PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK EVENT SERIES #18 – SHARING SESSION WITH BEA WIHARTA

Yogyakarta, December 23, 2025 – The Sewon Photography Week #18 event held a sharing session with Bea Wiharta, a Visual Storyteller. This sharing session took place in the AUVI room of the Faculty of Visual Arts and Media Recording at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. The event ran from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Western Indonesian Time. The event was open to the public, but was mostly attended by students. This is certainly not surprising as the topic discussed is highly relevant to students, namely “Where To Go After Graduation?”.

This sharing session began with the speaker telling their story about their career journey as a photojournalist. Then Bea provided an overview of how to build a career, starting with knowing what you want, understanding the challenges, and the reasons why you want it. Bea also discussed AI. Artificial Intelligence who are exploring the world of photography and providing the perspective that humans are currently shifting from reading to seeing (visual), therefore understanding this condition is very important for determining future careers.

This event helps students, especially those in the photography program, to solidify and understand how they will navigate their careers in the photography world. The questions asked by the audience showed a positive response to the material presented by Bea Wiharta.
