FRENCH CINEMA FESTIVAL 2025 PRESENTS SCREENING AND DISCUSSION OF ANIMATED FILM "MARONA'S FANTASTIC TALE" IN YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta, November 26, 2025 - The 2025 French Cinema Festival will once again bring the best of French cinema to film lovers in Indonesia. In this series of festivals, there will be a screening of an enchanting animated film entitled "Marona's Fantastic Tale". The event, which is open to the public, will be held on November 26, 2025 at Auvi Room, Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta.

This special event is the result of a collaboration between the French Institute of Indonesia (LIP) IFI Yogyakarta and the Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta. This collaboration not only aims to show quality films, but also to deepen the appreciation and insight of students and academicians into the creative process behind making international animation films, especially those from Europe.

What makes this event even more special is the presence of Anca Damian, director of the movie "Marona's Fantastic Tale" through Zoom. After the screening, there will be an interactive discussion session that provides a rare opportunity for participants, especially FSMR students, to dialog directly with the creator. This discussion will delve deeper into the unique visual concepts, animation techniques, and philosophical narratives brought by the film.

Through this activity, it is hoped that there can be a transfer of knowledge directly from the source, inspire young Indonesian filmmakers, and strengthen cultural relations between Indonesia and France through the medium of film art. This event is open to the public, especially students, academics, and Yogyakarta film communities. (PR)
