Yogyakarta, November 29, 2024 – Photography Study Program, Faculty of Visual Communication Design, Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Workshop titled “Strengthening Problem-Based and Project-Based Curriculum in the Implementation of MBKM Entrepreneurship Simulation." Case Method”on Friday, November 29, 2024. This workshop aims to provide lecturers with insights into the use of methods Case Method in learning in a campus environment.
Case Method is a learning approach based on case studies and group discussions, designed to enhance students’ analytical and critical abilities in solving real-world problems. The implementation of this method will develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills that are highly relevant to the current needs of the working world.
The Dean of the Faculty of Creative Media Recording Arts at ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Edial Rusli, SE, M.Sn, expressed his pride in the implementation of this Workshop in his welcoming remarks. “I hope this activity not only enriches the insights of the lecturers but also produces a Semester Learning Plan (RPS) that is based on..." Case Method which can be applied in various courses in the Photography Study Program, said Dr. Edial.
On that occasion, Dr. Jumadi, SE, MM, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Widya Mataram University, as the speaker, explained that the method Case Method involves simulating real-life situations relevant to the learning material, which will trigger active and collaborative discussions. This supports the achievement of curriculum goals. Outcome-Based Education (OBE), which emphasizes the achievement of concrete learning outcomes.
This workshop is expected to strengthen the quality of education in the Photography Study Program, ISI Yogyakarta, and help students become more creative and innovative individuals. (PKKM FT Team)
