FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, in collaboration with File Academy, will hold an online visual literacy lecture, Batch #3: for the general public, titled "Art & Science of Photography" in May 2023. In this lecture, participants will learn from experienced lecturers about the scientific and artistic aspects of photography to enhance the competitiveness of their photographic works. The visual literacy lecture will be held over four days on May 4, 5, 11, and 12, 2023, and will conclude on May 24, 2023. Each day/date will present different topics, including Expression Photography: Creating Photographic Artworks, Creating Photo Stories, Visual Imagination: Photo Collage Art, and Digital Replication of 360° Orbit Photos.
In this lecture, participants will learn from experienced lecturers such as Drs. Risman Marah, M.Sn., Pamungkas Wahyu, M.Sn., Dr. Edial Rusli, Yohanes Baptista, M.Sn., and Johnny Hendarta, E. FIAP, to understand the scientific and artistic aspects of photography so they can apply them in their work and creations. Participants are expected to hone their photography skills and the quality of their work through this visual literacy lecture.

The rapid advancement of technology has influenced the development of photographic art, such as the use of digital cameras and photo editing applications. Therefore, in this lecture, participants will be introduced to and understand the latest technologies and photo editing applications in the current photography industry. In this lecture, lecturers from FSMR ISI Yogyakarta will provide information on current photographic art trends, such as techniques for creating 3D photos and conceptual photos. Additionally, participants will also learn how to optimize photography to convey stories using the EDFAT method. Photographers today must continuously innovate. Therefore, this visual literacy lecture is expected to provide valuable insights and knowledge for participants to develop their photographic work and compete in an increasingly competitive market.
