The Archaeology Center of Yogyakarta Province in collaboration with the Photography Study Program (Podi), Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for Basic Photography Training in the context of Training in Making Civilization House Corner Posters in the Liyangan Site Civilization House Program in 2021 and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for Field Work Practices for Students of the Photography S-1 Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta. The signing was carried out at Purbosari Village Hall, Ngadirejo sub-district, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, Monday, October 11, 2021.
On this occasion, the Dean of FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., together with the Head of the Yogyakarta Archaeology Center, Drs. Sugeng Riyanto, M.Hum., took turns signing the PKS in the presence of invited guests, including the Secretary of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of Temanggung Regency; representatives of the Culture and Tourism Office of Temanggung Regency; representatives of Ngadirejo District, the Head of Purbosari Village, as well as representatives from the Police and Koramil.
In his remarks before signing, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., stated that this collaboration is a series of collaborations that have been carried out with the Archaeology Center of Yogyakarta Province with FSMR ISI Yogyakarta. Previously, cooperation was also carried out with the Department of Film and Television and the D-3 Animation Study Program. While currently the cooperation is continued with the Photography Study Program. This cooperation is also expected to be a means of disseminating the knowledge taught in the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta, to the wider community so that it can be more useful in many aspects. In addition, field work practice cooperation involving students of Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta, also provides opportunities for students to carry out work practices including documentation, workshop assistance, and production of photographic works for the benefit of the Rumah Peradaban program.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Archaeology Center of Yogyakarta Province, Drs. Sugeng Riyanto, M.Hum, revealed that this collaboration is an effort for the Center to expand opportunities to strengthen knowledge and skills in relation to the development of the Rumah Peradaban program, especially at the Liyangan Site. As is known, Rumah Peradaban is a program that is run as an effort to disseminate the results of archaeological research more quickly and precisely by utilizing various means of information. Therefore, this collaboration with the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta is expected to equip high school students in Temanggung with good photography skills so that they can produce interesting and informative work to be disseminated to the public.
As a follow-up to the signing of the PKS, two lecturers from the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta, namely Pamungkas Wahyu Setiyanto, M.Sn., and Novan Jemmi Andrea, M.Sn., provided photography training for five days from Monday, October 11, 2021 to Friday, October 15, 2021. The work of the students participating in the training was used as an asset for making posters displayed in the corner of the Liyangan Site Civilization House.
