The Faculty of Recording Media Arts, ISI Yogyakarta always strives to carry out activities that can display competence and knowledge that can be followed by the academic community and also the general public, some of these activities are exhibitions and seminars. Several national and international exhibitions and seminars have been held in the past five years.
After the Faculty of Recording Media Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta (FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and Art Photography Indonesia (API) successfully organized the International Exhibition "Borderless" in August 2021, FSMR ISI Yogyakarta invited PSA and API to collaborate in holding a PSA International Photography Exhibition with the theme "Borderless". "My Homeland, as part of the 2nd PSA Photo Gathering (PSA-PG) 2024 event in Indonesia.
Agatha Anne Bunanta, S.E., MBA (The International Relationships Vice President of Photographic Society of America Worldwide) said that PSA has annually organized the PSA World Photography Conference in America in a different location each year. At the 84th event held in Williamsburg, America, PSA as a world photography organization felt the need to hold an international photography event outside America. In 2023, PSA held PSA 1 for the first time.st Photo Gathering (PSA-PG) in Jaisalmer, India, in February 2023. This activity was attended by 113 participants from 13 countries. In 2024, it was finally decided to hold PSA 2.nd Photo Gathering (PSA-PG) at ISI Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
International Photography Exhibition opened on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the opening ceremony will begin at 08.30 WIB, at the R.J Katamsi Gallery, ISI Yogyakarta. Featuring 262 photographic works (the work of 203 PSA member photographers and 46 photographers from lecturers and students of S1 Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta) which will be displayed from the 1st floor to the 4th floor of the R.J. Katamsi Gallery. In addition, on this occasion there will also be 17 film works (from S1 Film & Television Study Program, D4 Animation Study Program, and D4 Film & Television Production Study Program), the screening of film works will be on the 2nd floor of the R.J. Katamsi Gallery. The opening will be conducted by Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., Rector of ISI Yogyakarta together with J.R Schnelzer, President of Photographic Society of America Worldwide. The exhibition will be held from July 23 to August 12, 2024. (FT Team)
